Reproduction Tube Charts

Originally created for my own ’64 Vibroverb build, these tube chart reproductions have grown into a small but carefully crafted side project alongside my amp and pedal work.

Each chart is a faithful recreation of original Fender artwork, drawn from detailed study of vintage examples and reference photography.

Designed from the originals

Rather than scanning or copying existing charts, every design is recreated from scratch in Adobe Illustrator. This allows for a much higher level of control and accuracy, particularly where original examples vary — which they often do.

• Layouts are redrawn by hand from reference images
• Valve diagrams are carefully reconstructed and refined
• Period-correct typography reproduced using custom-built vintage fonts

To support this work, I’ve recreated several of the distinct fonts Fender used across different eras, allowing each chart to reflect the character of the original it’s based on.

Authentic detail

While the core valve illustrations are reusable, Fender’s tube charts were never completely uniform. Subtle differences in spacing, text, formatting, and layout mean that each design is individually adjusted to ensure it looks and feels right.

The goal isn’t just accuracy — it’s authenticity.

Materials

Charts are printed on high-quality 130gsm brown paper, chosen to closely match the tone and feel of original vintage examples.

For restorers who prefer to finish the ageing process themselves, I also offer versions on plain paper, ideal for custom relic work.

Available versions

Over time, I’ve developed over a dozen different models, with new charts added as and when I take on new reference material.

A small detail that matters

These started as a practical solution for one amp build, but they’ve become something I genuinely enjoy producing. They’re a small component, but one that adds a surprising amount of character and authenticity to a finished amplifier.
