The original Fender Vibroverb is a legendary guitar amplifier, introduced in 1963 and only produced for a few years. Known for its rich, warm tones, built-in reverb and vibrato effects, the Vibroverb quickly became a favorite among guitarists seeking a versatile and expressive sound and was used by many iconic musicians, including my own favourite guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
In this project, I wanted to create an accurate replica of the original 1964 Vibroverb in honour of SRV. I spent countless hours meticulously studying the original circuit design and components used in the 1964 Vibroverb. I tried to source as many original vintage parts as possible or carefully chose modern day alternatives that maintained the original tone. Employing traditional construction techniques, I aimed to create an amplifier that not only looks and feels like the original but also delivers the same rich, classic sound.
